Reiki is a spiritual healing art that originates from Japan. The term Reiki is derived from the Japanese words (Rei), meaning "Universal Life," and (Ki), referring to "Energy." Not associated with any religion or religious practice, Reiki represents a subtle yet effective form of energy work that utilizes spiritually guided life force energy. This life energy flows through all living beings. Reiki practitioners recognize that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy, enabling them to enhance their own energy and assist others. It is believed that a person's "ki" or energy should be strong and flowing freely. When this occurs, an individual’s body and mind are in a positive state of health. Conversely, when energy becomes weak or blocked, it may result in physical or emotional imbalances. A Reiki session can alleviate tension and stress while supporting the body to create an environment conducive to healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. Each session is enjoyable and relaxing, making it a popular choice for personal wellness.

Reiki serves as an effective tool for stress reduction and relaxation, making it a popular choice for those seeking wellness. While Reiki is not a cure for any disease or illness, it can support the body in creating an optimal environment for healing. Many individuals find that Reiki is a valuable complement to traditional medicine, which is why it is practiced in numerous hospitals and medical care settings. The levels of Reiki certification include Level 1 (Shoden), Level 2 (Okuden), and Level 3 (Master level). Level 1 emphasizes self-healing techniques. In Level 2, practitioners become attuned to three sacred symbols that enhance their healing abilities and enable them to send Reiki energy to others from a distance, often serving as the necessary level for those aspiring to be professional practitioners. Level 3 offers advanced training for individuals aiming to become Reiki Masters, allowing them to teach and attune others in this transformative practice.

Michelle Polidoro has always had a passion for helping others. She became a nurse in 1989, embarking on her journey to heal people both physically and emotionally. In April of 2021, Michelle faced the sudden and tragic loss of her mother, which plunged her into a very dark place for the first time. While she knew that medications could assist with her depression, Michelle believed in exploring a more holistic way to heal herself. Having experienced the benefits of Reiki in the past, she felt that this natural spiritual healing method could alleviate the deep pain of losing her mother. In April of 2022, Michelle achieved her goal of becoming a Reiki Master through the International Center for Reiki Training, where the focus is on Usui Reiki, named after its founder Mikao Usui. This journey has empowered Michelle to continue her mission of helping others heal physically and emotionally through the transformative practice of Reiki. In her free time, she enjoys hiking mountains and camping with her husband and family.
